One fair process. Both sides see the same thing.

Every job on The Real Johnson runs the same way: fair price set before booking, payment reserved before work begins, proof of work at every step, and earnings released after the customer approves. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.

Step 1 — The job gets posted, with a real price

The customer describes the work and sees a fair price before booking — not an estimate that grows in the driveway. Both sides see the same number from the start. The booked price is the booked price; any change in scope goes through the app so both sides agree before it takes effect.

Step 2 — Payment is reserved before work begins

On a Protected Booking, the customer authorizes funds before work begins. No payment hold is placed until card confirmation, and funds are not captured until payment rules are met. The contractor or handyman knows the job is real; the customer knows exactly what it costs.

A Free / Unprotected Request needs no card. It has no payment protection, and contractors may choose not to accept it — but the option is always there.

Step 3 — The work happens, with proof at every stage

The pro updates status as the job moves — in transit, arrived, working — and documents each stage with photos and notes: the condition they found, the work in progress, and the finished result. Everything lands on the job screen live, where both sides see the same record.

Step 4 — Review, approve, release

When the work is marked complete, the customer reviews it — in person and in the app. Approval releases earnings to the contractor or handyman. If something's not right, the customer flags it in the app before approving. Nobody argues from memory; the record settles it.
